Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

So I got this soap a while ago, free from Lush in Middlesbrough as a Random Act of Kindness one day when I was in store. I wasn’t expecting it and honestly, I thought it was lovely as I was going to buy this soap eventually.

Honey I Washed The Kids Soap (HIWTK) is a very creamy colour, almost like honey that has settled at the bottom of the jar or bottle, or cloudy honey that you can sometimes buy. The colour isn’t much to look at honestly, but HIWTK soap makes up for it in other ways. It may not look the nicest but it smells amazing. The new HIWTK soap has a dark brown transparent top layer which has a honeycomb pattern on which is a nice touch considering the older soap was slightly boring.

HIWTK soap smells like toffee and caramel it’s a really lovely smell, very sweet and uplifting, sort of takes me back to being a kid in my grandma’s kitchen as her brother used to keep bees and I remember watching her get the honey out of the honeycomb and getting the wax out too. The warm sticky smell of the honey, just takes me back, especially considering that I don’t like to eat honey because I find it too messy and too sweet on my teeth.

I find this soap to be a little soft as well, in fact, mine got stuck under the top of my lush drawer unit and got damaged and squashed. Which is a little disappointing but I guess it’s just soap and will end up down the drain eventually. I think the creaminess of the soap adds to the lathering of HIWTK soap. As it produces a creamy lather which helps to moisturise the skin and make it soft and supple.

I would buy this soap again when this bar I have runs out as I do really like it. It makes my skin feel soft and moisturised, and leave a lovely light smell of honey on the skin. The smell does last a while and it would last even longer if I combined it with Scrubbee, Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar, It’s Raining Men shower gel and the Honey I Washed The Kids perfume.

The Olive Branch Shower Gel

This was meant to be a New Years post but it never made it so I have re-written it and posted it today.

Just taking a few minutes to review The Olive Branch Shower Gel which I received as a sample from Lush when I placed an online order.

First off the consistency of The Olive Branch Shower gel is not that of an ordinary shower gel. It’s basically water, orange water. But this shower gel is rich in oild which nourish the skin and hair. I#m no a huge fan of the consistency as I feel I would use too much and it doesn’t later up like a traditional shower gel. It also means that you could easily accidentally use too much when you’re despencing it onto your shower puff or sponge. I wouldn’t like to try using this with just my hand as most of it would probably go down the drain

The smell of The Olive Branch is sort of orangey, but not a bright orange though. It has the same smell as The Christmas Penguin bubble bar. Still suitable for a morning shower, though because of all the oild it might make the shower slippery so I’d be careful. After using this I get a sort of a “plastic doll” smell left on my skin. You know like those cheap dolls that everyone had as a kid. Though the smell is not over powering so you could combine it with a lotion or some other scent.

Despite the consistency and the smell, this is actually a really nourishing shower gel, whch is something that you need in the cold winder days. Or even in the summer to keep your skin summer ready. Especially if your skin is like mine and gets dry really easily, as soon as the weather chnaged or I’m in the wrong temperature for too long my skin just dires out like the Saharah.

I can’t see myself buying a full bottle of this at any point in the near future, as the smell and the consistency just aren’t for me. However I think this would be a good bubble bath, as the oils are so good for your skin. Overall The Olive Branch Shower Gel is nice but not one of the better ones that I have used, I would much rather use something else which is a smell that I like and that laters really well and isn’t too runny.

Pink Custard Shower Jelly Mothers Day 2017

Hey guys, back again. This time with Pink Custard Shower Jelly.

I got this with my Valentines/ Mother’s Day/ Easter order. This is from the Mother’s Day range. At first I was sceptical about this jelly but after using it I was totally converted to the ways of the jelly. I’ve used shower jellies before and hoenstly I do love them deeply.

Back to Pink Custard, this bright pink jelly is the cutest thing every. Its a lot darker pink colour than American Pie jelly, (which I also have to review). I only got the smaller sized pot as I know how long shower jellies can last when they aren’t cut up. I think I had one from Halloween 2015 last me till almost Halloween 2016.

So in the tub Pink Custard Shower Jelly smells sort of odd,  like a musky floral smell. Which to me really doesn’t smell alls that nice. However, when you use it in the bath or shower, then the smell of this becomes increible. The floral smell becomes so much more, the lavender comes out more so than any other smell, to me so it becomes more of a Twilight sort of smell. The smell of this shower jelly, lasts for a long time on the skin and even lingers in the air for a while too.

The jelly, makes your skin feel so soft, which means that you don’t need to use a lotion afterwards if you don’t want too. Ther needs to be some sort of lotion with a similar smell to this, I mean I know I have Sleepy Body Lotion which smells like Twilight but I think that would over power the smell of this jelly.

Overall, Pink Custard Shower Jelly is really nice and I would recommend getting some if you still can, as I know Mother’s Day has been and gone over here in the UK, but I think (don’t quote me on this) that bcause Needles and Pines Shower Jelly has been discontinued then Pink Custard might make a come back as a regular line product

Wash Behind Your Ears Shower Gel Easter 2017

Hey guys, back to early morning posts for a while.

I used this the other day which is the second thing I have used from my Lush Easter order. I don’t know where to start with this shower gel there are so many things about it

Lets start with the colour, bright carrot orange. When you use this the orange colour does leave a colour on your skin but it washes off straight away with no staining. I’ve not used this to wash my hair so I don’t know if it would stain hair, but I have dark hair so I probably wouldn’t notice if anything happened, on lighter hair staining might be an issue. It lathers up really nicely using either your hands or a shower scrunchy I use both with each new shower gel I try to see what everything is like.

This shower gel contains Carrot, Neroli, Rose, jasmine Sunflower and Gardenia extracts, so this shower gel smells slightly floral with a hint of carrot behind it. To me this shower gel smells nice when its in the bottle but it doesn’t smell so nice when you use it in the shower, though I know that some people may love Wash Behind Your Ears, the same as I love Wash That Man and most other people don’t. Anyway I’m getting off topic here.

WBYE isn’t similar to the Snowman scent family, though it does contain the same sort of ingredients in it. Though I would say that this is a more floral type scent, it sort of reminds me of old ladies, but that’s because of all of the flowers that are in it. I think I need to use this a few times to let my nose get used to it as I’m really not to keen on the smell at all, the texture is lovely and the colour too but not the smell.

Yummy Mummy Shower Cream Mothers Day 2017

So this is the first time that I’ve used Yummy Mummy Shower Cream because the last time I had some it was a gift for my mum. And I’m very impressed with it. I didn’t think I would like it because it’s suggested that this smells very floral.

So first off let’s continue with the scent, this smells like Peeping Santa Bubble Bar, D’Fluff Shaving Soap and Strawberry Feels Massage Bar. It smells so much like strawberry it’s amazing. And the smell lasts so long on your skin, I was getting complements all night when I was at the bingo 😂😂😂

The colour is lovely, my favourite colour purple. The colour does stain your skin but it comes off right away with water as you wash off the lather. I also found that this has left a stain on my shower scrunchy but that doesn’t mater it should come out after a few uses.

I found that this shower cream was very nourishing on the skin. I felt silky smooth after using this so I didn’t feel that I needed to use any extra lotion like I normally use. I Definately wish I got a bigger bottle of this, but I should be able to take it last till next year when I will get a bigger bottle if it comes back.

My mum said she loved it when I bought her some for her birthday last year so I knew this would be lovely. Me and my mum fave similar tastes in things like clothes and cosmetics.

So White Shower Gel Lush Kitchen

It’s that time of the week again, time for a review of a new product, or an old product. This week id is the turn of So White shower gel which I received in the post earlier this week. And let me tell you, I’m so glad that I bought this because it is the most divine shower gel I have ever had the pleasure of using, and I will be rationing it till I can get another bottle.

So I didn’t get this from the Lush kitchen I bought it from someone who no longer wanted it, but they got it from the Lush Kitchen. I don’t know why I never bought this myself from the Kitchen when it was there because it is so beautiful.

It smells like crisp red apples, like biting into a fresh apple from the market. It shares it smell with the Santa’s Belly shower jelly, which has been reviewed on this blog before and the So White bath bomb, which I have yet to review. The smell lasts on the skin for a good few hours, so if you showered on a morning you would be able to smell this on your kin throughout the day. I would also say you could layer it with the shower jelly of the same scent to get more impact.

The gel isn’t much to look at in the bottle being white, though there is some hint of lustre in there and it is listed on the ingredients. i don’t think gel would have worked if it had been any other colour in my opinion.

It’s sort of a medium consistency gel, not really thin like Olive Branch but not super thick like Lord Of Misrule. Its not like a gel either like Dirty Springwash its sort of a mix between a cream and gel. And I also found this as a more moisturising gel too which has added benefits too, it would be great if there was a So White body lotion or similar.

I’m so glad I managed to get a bottle of this shower gel as it is one of the nicest that I have used in a long time. I will be saving it for as long as I can, or till at least it comes back into the kitchen.

Heavily Bodies Butter Cream Lush Kitchen

Well hello, it’s been while hasn’t it. Well I just got my most recent Lush kitchen order or Heavily Bodies Butter Cream and I used it in the shower so I see fit to do a review of it already. Yes after only one use but hear me out on this one

Okay so this is a new concept to me a butter cream, it’s sort of like a soap but it’s not solid. So it’s a soft soap like say D’Fluff sort of texture. And it looks sort of gross because of the colour but I’ll get to that in a second.

So anyway this butter cream smells of creamy chocolate and sweet oranges. Sort of like when you first open a Terries chocolate orange on Christmas day, if you are lucky enough to find one in your stocking. I know I sadly wasn’t that lucky this year. It’s not an overly sweet chocolate smell, it’s more dominated by the orange, so if you aren’t a huge fan of sweet chocolate then this could be for you. It smells really tasty like you could scoop it out of the tub and eat it like ice cream, but don’t do that.

On the skin the smell is more of the chocolate side but not too over powering which is nice so you could layer the scents with other things which are similar or maybe even things that are different. This shares it’s scent with Sonic Death Monkey, which I almost bought a bottle on ebay before this beauty got here but I’m glad that I didn’t because it’ll probably be in the kitchen soon enough anyway.

This leaves you skin feeling very soft, and not with that squeeze feeling I sometimes get win soap. Anyone else get that sort of like all the oils have been stripped out of your skin, when the water just sits in beads because out doesn’t know what to do. I feel like I don’t need to use any additional products to moisturise my skin though I probably will as my elbows and the back of my arms are really dry. Sonic death monkey body lotion anyone?

I think this would also be good to use for shaving with as it is very thick and gives a thick lather on your skin. I think when I used this however i used too much because I had some spare on my hand afterwards. Next time I’m going to scoop some out into a sample pot to take with me so I’m not getting the entire tub wet when I use it.
